Welcome, 2010, to Geelong

January 1, 2010 - Leave a Response

Well, 2010 is here and Geelong, as always, brought the new year in with a bang!

Many thanks to John Conway for a staggering shot.

And Lisa Kenny was one of the first of the valiant throng to wish everyone the best for 2010!

Geelong Wins the Grand Final (Again) AND the September Newsletter is out!

September 27, 2009 - Leave a Response

Geelong is truly the place to be.

Firstly, we won the Grand Final. Yes, again. Every year the great gladiators do battle in the ring of the egg-shaped boot and heros are made and broken. Great emotive cries circle upwards to heaven and even the angels cheer. Well some of them. Some supported the Saints. But we don’t hold that against them. Yes, in the adrenaline flavour ice cream of life there could be but one winner and that winner was Geelong. The Cats showed their claws, arched their backs and now have something to purr about.

Now if that isn’t enough, then here’s the icing on the cake (or the laces on the football!). The Geelong Throng September Newsletter is OUT! Ready for you to download and read. Pass it about to your friends. If you like Geelong or you like art or you just like pretty pictures, well this newsletter is definitely made for you.

So what’s in the newsletter this month?

Well ignoring the Grand Final (can you ignore the Grand Final?) there’s a wonderful article about Geelong Wineries which hold their heads well up in the elite grape suppers circles. There’s a focus on Aireys Inlet (for those who have absolutely no interest in grapes – like the man says, something for everyone!). The world famous Hans Kawitzki is interviewed for the first time (in the Geelong Throng newsletter anyway) and shares some of his most intimate photographic secrets with the world. Well, some of them. One or two anyway. Hans is an artist extraordinaire – check out the article and check out his work on RedBubble. And wait, there’s more ….. but why not just download the darn thing and check it all out yourself?

So what’s stopping you – hit our download page above or (if you’re lazy like me) get it now!

Bush Fire Appeal

February 21, 2009 - Leave a Response

Although Geelong was spared the terrible bushfires that have ravaged Victoria recently we are still fully supporting the Phoenix Appeal which is donating profits from the sales of donated works to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

Many of us have donated works for this wonderful cause while some artists are giving all of their sales directly and RedBubble have agreed to match dollar for dollar the monies raised by concerned RedBubble artists.

So this is a time to get in and buy. Do yourself AND the bushfire victims a favour.

Go to the Phoenix Appeal site directly, or click on an image below
